NOHA Discrimination Policies

The Northern Ontario Hockey Association (NOHA) Board of Directors has approved comprehensive new policies for managing discrimination penalties and addressing discrimination allegations that fall outside the jurisdiction of on-ice officials.

 

Key Policy Changes

 

Discrimination Penalties

  • Standardized penalty structure for discrimination-related violations during games and hockey activities

  • Clear escalation procedures for repeated offenses

  • Mandatory reporting requirements for all participants, including players, coaches, officials, and volunteers

 

Non-Official Discrimination Allegations

  • Established independent review process for allegations not witnessed or addressed by on-ice officials

  • Designated complaint intake procedures with confidentiality protections

  • Timely investigation protocols with defined resolution timelines

  • Appeals process for disciplinary decisions

 

Implementation

  • All registered participants are required to familiarize themselves with the complete policy documents

  • Training sessions will be scheduled for coaches, team officials, and association administrators
